I guess if you're planning on getting away with everything you're wanting to get away with, even if you are the highest elected official in NC, you have to make sure that those in charge of investigating things that might cross the line, are a big fat hassle.
You know, like the SBI, who would be in charge of going after any wrong doing by the Governor, his team, or the NC General Assembly.
Up until today, the SBI have been under the control of the NC Attorney General, Roy Cooper (the most powerful elected Democrat in the state). Today, Governor Pat McCrory took control of the SBI.
